Thai Foot Massage - This massage is an invigorating and relaxing experience. The pressure points of the foot are worked to free up the flow of energy and relieve stress throughout the body. Traditional Thai Massage, also known as Ancient Massage or Thai Yoga Massage, dates back more than three hundred years in its present form, with its origins going back more than 5,000 years to ancient India and China. While Thai Massage combines elements of Ayeurvedic medicine, Hatha yoga and Chinese acupressure, it has evolved into a system that is entirely unique and is widely regarded as one of the best systems of therapeutic massage. Many health benefits have been associated with Thai Massage, including:
* Relief from stress and muscle tension
* Relief from aches and pains
* Improved circulation
* Unblocking and balancing of energy flow
* Detoxification of the internal organs
* Improved alignment
* Increased flexibility and range of motion
* A general increase in energy
* Improved mood

It is well known that massage can relieve tension in your muscles, and it is frequently utilized as a way to reduce stress and promote relaxation. So how does foot and hand massage decrease pain? In 1962, Ron Melzack and Patrick Wall proposed the gate control theory of pain in order to explain how pain works. In essence, they suggested that when you rub an area that is hurting, you are simply preventing the pain message to be sent to the brain. The pain is "gated," so to speak, by a more pleasant experience of massage. Massage acts like an analgesic and inhibits those pain signals from being transmitted to the brain. It is also thought that massage helps the body to release naturally produced chemicals or painkillers such as opioids or endorphins. So the next time you, or someone you know is in pain, try a hand or foot massage and see what happens.

Foot Reflexology
Reflexology originates from an ancient Chinese system and is based on the notion that there are nerve endings in the soles of the feet that correspond to all of the organs of the body such as the liver, kidney or spleen. The gentle and repeated massage of these pressure points stimulates and detoxifies the internal organs and improves circulation to the problem area. Foot massage begins with a footbath and is done with the fingers, hands and a small wooden dowel dipped in lotion. It involves both the sides and soles of the feet as well as the energy lines (Sen) of the lower leg. You may schedule a foot massage separately or you may combine some foot massage with a regular, full-body massage. Please schedule at least 90 minutes for a combined treatment.Like any form of massage, benefits increase with repeated treatments.
